Australia’s Northern Territory is all set to host the Top End T20 Series 2026. The T20 tournament will feature teams from across the world. And it will take place in late August 2026.

But what’s so different about the Top End T20 Series?
So the tournament pits Australian state teams, BBL franchises, high-performance squads and national teams against each other. Think of it as the now-defunct Champions League T20.
The tournament brings international and national talent to the Northern Territory during the Australian winter season.
It’s more like helping teams develop and work on their upcoming players. And it also acts as a pre-season prep for the local Australian teams.
So when does the Top End T20 Series 2026 begin?
The Top End T20 Series 2026 starts on August 21. Hobart Hurricanes Academy takes on Cricket Victoria in the tournament opener at 10:00 AM local time (6:00 AM IST).
The opening day features two more games, with ACT Comets squaring off against HH Kingsmen Academy and hosts NT Strike facing Nepal.
Which teams are participating in the Top End T20 Series 2026?
A total of nine teams will participate in the T20 tournament. Apart from the six teams mentioned above, Adelaide Strikers Academy, Bangladesh High Performance and New Zealand A complete the roster.

What’s the format of the Top End T20 Series 2026?
The tournament follows a league stage, followed by the semi-finals and the final.
In the league stage, each team will play six matches. Once the first round ends, the top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
The table toppers will take on the fourth-placed side in one semi-final. The other semi-final will see the Nos. 2 and 3 teams lock horns for one final spot.
How many matches will take place?
A total of 30 matches will take place in the tournament. 27 of those matches are part of the league stage.

Five venues across Darwin will host the tournament.

What’s the complete schedule for the Top End T20 Series 2026?
So the 10-day tournament runs from August 21 to 30. Three matches will take place on each day.
The two semi-finals and the final will take place on the same day, August 30. Gerry Wood Oval will host the first semi-final, while the Marrara Cricket Ground will stage the second semi-final and the grand final.
