The women’s cricket competition starts on September 17, 2026. Bangladesh will face China in the first quarter-final in Nisshin at 9:00 AM local time (5:30 AM IST).
Wait… direct quarter-finals? There are no group stage fixtures?
Nope. This time around there are no group stage fixtures. A total of eight teams feature in the tournament, all placed directly in the quarter-finals.
Alright, which teams are participating in the Asian Games women’s cricket competition 2026?
Recent Women’s Asia Cup winners and last edition’s gold winners, India, along with Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, directly qualified for the competition.
Japan sealed their spot as the hosts. And the other three spots were booked by China, Malaysia and Thailand through the Asian Games qualifier held in May 2026.

What’s the format like?
So the eight teams will first battle it out in four quarter-finals. The winners from each quarter-final will proceed to the semi-finals.

And yes, all matches will take place in T20I format, the same as the last edition.
Which venue will host the matches?
The Korogi Sports Park in Aichi Prefecture’s Nisshin will host the entire competition. It’s a new cricket facility in Japan, built ahead of the Games.
The venue has natural grass pitches. And it can accommodate 2000 spectators with temporary stands. The venue recently hosted T20 World Cup qualifiers, marking its debut.
What’s the schedule for the Asian Games women’s cricket competition 2026?
The opening day features one more quarter-final between Pakistan and Thailand.
On September 18, Malaysia and Sri Lanka will square off in the third quarter-final, while hosts Japan will take on India in the fourth quarter-final.
The semi-finals will then take place on September 20, with the medal games on September 22.
