IPL 2024: Schedule, Venues, Squads, and Broadcast Details

The much-awaited schedule for the IPL 2024 season is out, and excitement levels are going through the roof. The 17th IPL season will take place from March 22 to May 26, 2024.

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match on March 22 in Chennai.

A total of 74 matches will be played in IPL 2024, including 4 playoff games. Except for the opening match (8 PM), all other evening games will start at 7:30 PM, while the afternoon games will kick off at 3:30 PM.

The 10-team tournament will see the teams split into 2 groups. Each team will play twice against the 4 teams from their group, while they meet once against the 4 teams from the other group, with 2 games against 1 remaining team.

After the end of the league stage, the top 4 teams will move into the playoffs. The top 2 teams will battle it out in Qualifier 1, with the winner directly entering the Final. The No. 3 and No. 4 teams will play against each other in the Eliminator.

Later, the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of Eliminator will take on each other in Qualifier 2 to qualify for the Final. The winners of Qualifiers 1 and 2 will then fight out in the summit clash to claim the IPL trophy. 

In all, 13 venues will host 74 matches, including Vizag, Dharamsala, and Guwahati (2 matches each). Delhi Capitals will play 2 of their 7 home matches in Vizag. Similarly, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals will play their 2 home games in Dharamsala and Guwahati, respectively.
