When does the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 start?
The 10th edition of the tournament will begin on June 12, 2026. Host England will take on Sri Lanka in the curtain raiser in Birmingham at 6:30 PM local time (11:00 PM IST).
How many teams have qualified for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026?
A total of 12 teams will feature in the tournament, two more than the 2024 edition.
Apart from England and Sri Lanka, Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies gained direct qualification.
The other four teams – Bangladesh, Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland – made the cut through the global qualifiers held earlier this year in Nepal.

What is the format of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026?
The format is pretty straightforward. The group stage follows a single round-robin format. So each team plays five games in the group stage.
Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. And then the final will follow to determine the winner.
