T20 Blast 2026: Schedule, Venues, Squads & Broadcast Details

England’s T20 Blast returns for another season in 2026. This is the 21st edition of the T20 tournament.

Here’s all you need to know about the T20 Blast 2026 season.

When does the T20 Blast 2026 start?

The T20 Blast 2026 starts on May 22. The opening day features nine games in all, with Somerset starting their title defence. They will face Hampshire in Taunton.

How many teams will play?

As usual, all 18 counties will field their teams. They will be divided into three groups of six teams each instead of the two groups of nine.

What are the groups in the T20 Blast 2026?

The three groups are North, Central and South.

What’s the format of the T20 Blast 2026?

This year’s T20 Blast features a tweaked format. Each team will play 12 matches in the group stage, two less than the last edition.

Teams will face their group opponents twice, playing 10 games. Their other two matches will be against a team each from the other two groups. In all, teams will play six home and six away games.

After the group stage, eight teams will qualify for the quarter-finals – the top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams. The quarter-final winners will advance to the semi-finals. And then the final will pit the semi-final winners against each other.

How many matches will be played in the T20 Blast 2026?

The 21st edition features 115 matches, 18 fewer than the previous season. 108 of those fixtures are part of the group stage, while the other seven form the knockouts, including the final.
