Who are the Captains in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026?

The Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 had a blockbuster start on June 18 in Dallas.

Faf du Plessis played a captain’s knock to help Texas Super Kings (TSK) gun down a 221-run target against Seattle Orcas.

Now other captains would also like to imitate du Plessis’ performance in the rest of the season.

But who all are the captains in the MLC 2026 season? Here’s a look at them!

Los Angeles Knight Riders | Jason Holder

Despite a poor season last year, Jason Holder continues to lead Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) in 2026.

LAKR managed just two wins last season, finishing last on the points table. This time, Holder would like to turn things around with his limited captaincy experience. And LAKR have started on a positive note in 2026.

MI New York | Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran walks in as the defending champion. He led MI New York (MINY) to their second title last year.

But the campaign wasn’t all perfect in 2025. Pooran managed just three wins in the group stage and somehow took MINY to the playoffs before lifting the trophy.

This time around, the Caribbean hitter would like to defend the title with better captaincy.

San Francisco Unicorns | Matt Short

San Francisco Unicorns have had a captaincy change for MLC 2026. Matt Short replaces Corey Anderson in the role.

This is Short’s first captaincy stint in T20 cricket. So there will be some pressure on him to change the Unicorns’ fortunes.

Seattle Orcas | Marcus Stoinis

Seattle Orcas had a poor outing under Heinrich Klaasen’s leadership in 2025. So they have appointed a new captain this season.

Marcus Stoinis takes over from Klaasen. Stoinis has brief captaincy experience, having led Melbourne Stars in the BBL. He also captained TSK once in MLC 2025.

Texas Super Kings | Faf du Plessis

Faf du Plessis continues to be with TSK. This is his fourth season as the Super Kings skipper in the MLC.

TSK have made it to the playoffs in each of the previous three seasons. But they have failed to convert that into a title. So du Plessis would be eager to lift the trophy this season.
