Australia’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 Schedule

Australia failed to defend their World Test Championship (WTC) crown against South Africa. The Proteas dashed them away in the WTC 2025 Final.

Now, the Aussies will have to start afresh to reclaim the title. And their quest to win the WTC 2025-27 will begin in the West Indies.

The Australian men will start the fourth cycle with a three-match tour of the Caribbean. Then there’s an all-important home Ashes before they host Bangladesh.

A tour of South Africa will follow soon, where they will look to settle the score against the new champions. A series against New Zealand awaits at home before they fly out to India for another round of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Australians will be in action in a total of 22 Tests, the most for a team across the whole cycle.

Here’s Australia’s complete schedule for the WTC 2025-27 cycle.

West Indies vs Australia (Away) – Frank Worrell Trophy

With a 10-day break after the WTC 2025 Final, Australia will be back to business. They will tour the West Indies for a three-match Test series.

The series will start on June 25, with the first Test in Bridgetown, Barbados. St George’s will host the second match from July 3 onwards. And Jamaica’s Kingston will stage a day-nighter from July 12 to 16.

This will be Australia’s first Test series in the West Indies in almost a decade. Their last visit in 2015 culminated in a 2-0 win.

Australia vs England (Home) – The Ashes

Australia will gear up for a blockbuster home summer. They will play host to England for the Ashes 2026/27.

Perth will kick-start the proceedings in late November. Brisbane will get ready for an early December Test, while Adelaide will stage the pre-Christmas Test.

Melbourne will, as usual, host the Boxing Day Test. And Sydney will start 2027 with the New Year Test.

Australia have dominated in the last three Ashes series at home. And they would like to keep the record straight once more.

Australia vs Bangladesh (Home)

Australia’s home series against Bangladesh will be historic. They will host Bangladesh for a Test series for the first time in more than two decades.

It was back in 2003 when Australia last hosted Bangladesh for a two-match series. This time as well, both sides will engage in two Tests in August 2026.

South Africa vs Australia (Away)

The Aussies will travel to South Africa in September and October 2026. Australia will be back in South Africa for the first time after the infamous ‘Sandpapergate’ incident in 2018.

They will square off against the new WTC winners in a three-Test series. Australia would like to avenge the 2018 series loss.

Australia vs New Zealand (Home) – Trans-Tasman Trophy

In the summer of 2026/27, Australia will host their trans-Tasman neighbours, New Zealand. Both sides will play a four-match series, the first for them.

The series will take place in December 2026 and early January 2027. Australia whitewashed the Kiwis in their last home series in 2019/20.

India vs Australia (Away) – Border-Gavaskar Trophy

After reclaiming the BGT at home in early 2025, Australia will tour India to defend it in early 2027. It will be another cracker of a Test series for both teams.

Australia will likely arrive in India in mid-January 2027. They will stay around till February 2027 for a full-fledged five-Test series.

This series will most likely decide Australia’s qualification for yet another WTC Final. And the Aussies won’t have it easy, as they haven’t beaten India in India since 2013.
