New Zealand’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 Schedule

New Zealand will be the last team to start their World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. Their first series of the fourth iteration will take place in December 2025.

The Kiwis will host the West Indies before hosting India and Sri Lanka in the 2026/27 home season. Their away fixtures will be in England, Australia, and Pakistan.

The Blackcaps will play three series of two matches each, two series of three Tests each, and a four-match series. In all, New Zealand will feature in 16 Tests in the fourth edition of the WTC.

They were the inaugural champions in 2021 but weren’t able to live up to that performance in the last two cycles. So, the Kiwis would like to turn things around in this edition.

New Zealand vs West Indies (Home)

New Zealand’s first challenge will be the Caribbean boys. The West Indies will arrive on New Zealand’s shores in early November 2025 for limited-overs games. The Test action, though, will take place in December 2025.

It will be a three-match Test series. The first Test will take place in Christchurch from December 2 onwards.

Then both teams will move to Wellington for the second Test starting on December 10. The series will conclude at Mount Maunganui with the third Test scheduled for December 18 to 22.

The Kiwis haven’t lost a Test match against the Caribbean team at home since 1996. So they would like to maintain the record.

England vs New Zealand (Away) – Crowe-Thorpe Trophy

After being quiet for the first half of 2026, the Blackcaps will resume Test action in the second half. Their first away assignment will be against England.

New Zealand will square off against the home side in a three-Test series, named the Crowe-Thorpe Trophy. The series will take place in June 2026.

On their last tour in 2022, the Kiwis returned with empty hands, as England handed them a 0-3 defeat.

New Zealand vs India (Home)

After their historic series win in India in 2024, New Zealand will host the Asian team across October-November 2026.

Both sides will play a two-match series. In their last meeting in 2020, the Kiwis defeated India 2-0.

Australia vs New Zealand (Away) – Trans-Tasman Trophy

The Kiwis will cross the Tasman Sea for a Test series against Australia. For the first time, Australia and New Zealand will play a four-match Test series.

The series will start in December 2026 and run through early January 2027. The series will likely start in Perth before the action moves to Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney.

On their last down under tour, New Zealand suffered a 0-3 whitewash at the hands of the Aussies.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka (Home)

After their Australian tour, New Zealand will return home. They will gear up to host Sri Lanka.

The Blackcaps will play two Tests against Sri Lanka in January 2027. Both sides last met in New Zealand in 2023, where the hosts took the series home 2-0.

Pakistan vs New Zealand (Away)

New Zealand’s last assignment of the WTC 2025-27 will be against Pakistan. This is also the last bilateral series of this cycle.

The Blackcaps will touchdown in Pakistan in March 2027. They will play a two-match series against the hosts.

New Zealand managed to draw the last series played in Pakistan in 2022. Both Tests of the series ended in a draw.
