India’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 Schedule

India will begin their World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 on June 20, 2025. They will start with a five-match assignment in England.

This will be the first Test series for India after the retirements of some big names. Plus, the Men in Blue will have a new skipper in Shubman Gill. He will have the big task of leading India to their maiden WTC victory.

As has been the case, India will face six Test teams till early 2027. They will play the West Indies, South Africa, and Australia at home while meeting England, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand in away fixtures.

England vs India (Away) – Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy

First up on India’s WTC 2025-27 checklist will be the England tour. The Indian men will face the Englishmen in the newly inducted Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

It will be a five-match affair set to run between June 20 and August 4, 2025. The series will get underway in Leeds before the action moves towards Birmingham, London, and Manchester.

India vs West Indies (Home)

After a two-month gap, India will host their first home series of the new cycle. The West Indies will be the first to arrive in October 2025.

India will square off in a short two-match series against the Men in Maroon. Ahmedabad will kick off the series on October 2, while Delhi will host the second match from October 10 onwards.

India vs South Africa (Home) – Freedom Trophy

A month later, the new WTC champions, South Africa, will land in India. It will be another two-match series for the hosts.

The first Test will take place in Kolkata from November 14 to 18. The final match will be in Guwahati from November 22 to 26.

Sri Lanka vs India (Away)

After no Test action for eight months, India will be back in whites in August 2026. This time, they will fly to neighbouring Sri Lanka.

The two Asian teams will lock horns in a two-match series. This will be India’s first Sri Lanka tour since 2017.

New Zealand vs India (Away)

India will also travel to New Zealand for the first time after 2020. The Blackcaps will host the Men in Blue for a two-match series in October-November 2026.

India vs Australia (Home) – Border-Gavaskar Trophy

India will conclude their WTC 2025-27 cycle at home. They will play host to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). It will be a five-match Test series scheduled for early 2027.
