Global Super League (GSL) Winners List

Cricket West Indies (CWI) launched an ambitious T20 league in 2024. And it’s the Global Super League (GSL), similar to the now-defunct Champions League T20.

The GSL brings the top teams from different franchise leagues in Guyana. Guyana Amazon Warriors and four other invitational teams compete to claim the title.

And here we’ll look at the winners of each edition of the Global Super League.

2024 | Rangpur Riders

The inaugural GSL season saw Bangladesh’s Rangpur Riders and Australia’s Victoria clash in the final.

After electing to bat first, the Riders got a solid start. Soumya Sarkar’s 86 and Steven Taylor’s 68 helped them put up 178 for 3 on the board.

In their defence, the Riders didn’t face trouble from Victoria’s batters. Except for Joe Clarke’s 40, other batters failed to put up a fight. As a result, Victoria were all out for 122, handing the Riders a 56-run win.

2025 | Guyana Amazon Warriors

Rangpur Riders made it to consecutive GSL finals. This time they were up against hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The home side elected to bat first. Johnson Charles’ 67, Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s 66 and Romario Shepherd’s unbeaten 28 off 9 pushed their total to 196 for 4.

In response, the Riders had a shaky start, struggling at 29 for 3. Saif Hassan (41) and Iftikhar Ahmed (46) tried to bring the Riders back in the chase, but their efforts went in vain.

In the end, the Riders were bowled out for 164, making the Amazon Warriors the champions.

2026 | Guyana Amazon Warriors

The hosts qualified for yet another final. And this time they had to defend their title against San Francisco Unicorns.

It seemed like the Amazon Warriors would fail to do so as they managed just 85 runs. This is how their top eight batters fared: 8, 2, 6, 4, 2, 2, 2 and 0.

It was their last three batters, Dwaine Pretorious (17*), Matthew Forde (28) and captain Imran Tahir (11), who added 56 runs to reach a face-saving score.

The target wasn’t big, but the Unicorns tumbled against the Amazon Warriors bowlers. Pretorious and Tahir starred with the ball as well, along with Mohammad Nabi, to bundle out the Unicorns for 79 runs.
